Another sunrise
year after year, day after day
my zest to excel is dying away
the passion is declining
the warmth is slumping
the desire is starving
the thirst is perishing
the words are eluding
the speech is limping
the expressions are dousing
the writings are fading
is this the start of an end
is this the onset of demise
is this the sunset of life

the deficit of enthusiasm
the hope is seeping
the enthusiasm is sleeping
it never had an honest awake
the feelings remained opaque
the life is ponderous
the character anonymous
all so dull and monotonic
the concerns so chronic
the routine affairs
the unwanted cares
the wait for the demise
the optimism for surprise
the dominance of sarcasm
the deficit of enthusiasm
the traces of reality
the verity of mortality
